An interactive, thoughtful, human approach.
Therapy is not simply about what feels difficult. It is also about discovering what becomes possible when you understand yourself more fully.
My style is interactive and motivational. I see psychotherapy as a collaborative relationship: a place to explore familiar patterns, make sense of your experiences, and work toward the changes that matter to you.
Originally trained in classical analysis, I have continued to study and integrate different approaches throughout more than 35 years of practice. My work is most closely aligned with a relational point of view, with attention to how we connect with ourselves and with others.
More about individual therapySupport that begins with your experience, your questions, and what you hope to change.

Let’s talk
I am a licensed clinical psychotherapist with offices in Brooklyn’s Park Slope, Manhattan’s Carnegie Hall area, and Palm Desert, California. My training includes certificates in couples counseling and LGBTQ+ issues.
Beyond my clinical work, I founded New Hope Celebrates and New Hope Celebrates History, organizations dedicated to LGBTQ+ life and community. I have also restored a historic farmhouse, operated the Wishing Well Bed and Breakfast, and served as editor of The New Hope Gazette.
Daniel has received citations of merit from the Pennsylvania State Senate and the Pennsylvania State Congressional Assembly. He directed the independent films “Queer Cuts” and was named a 2026 honoree of the New Hope Historical Society.
These experiences inform how I understand the responsibilities, ambitions, relationships, and challenges people bring into therapy. I also value movement, mindfulness, nature, and the everyday experiences that contribute to a meaningful life.
Labor is blossoming or dancing where
The body is not bruised to pleasure soul,
Nor beauty born out of its own despair,
Nor bleary-eyed wisdom out of midnight oil.
O chestnut tree, great rooted blossomer,
Are you the leaf, the blossom or the bole?
O body swayed to music, O brightening glance,
How can we know the dancer from the dance?
